I'm going to be in Naples the week of June 15-22 and would love to do some shore fishing. I am planning on going on a deep sea fishing charter, but that's just a one time thing. I'll be there with 7 other people, and wouldn't mind getting out early to go fishing while they are waking up.

I'll be RIGHT near Clam Pass (staying in Aunt's condo at Pelican Bay) I have a standard Spinning outfit, can use 4-12 pound test (could buy heavier if necessary) Considering the $15 fee to check a bag, I don't want to bring all my tackle. What would you suggest?

I am wondering about locations, lures, techniques, anything. I want to stay on the shore, and don't have any waders.

Also, any suggestions on Licenses? Is it highly regulated in Florida (it isn't so much in Texas)

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. I will literally fish for anything (an hopefully cook some)

Thanks!

Paul

Since I fished only with the fly in Clam pass I can not give you any tips about fishing it with a spinning rod.

Non-resident saltwater fishing licenses can be obtained in Naples city hall or even better ordered online at:

Thanks Marcel! It's good to know I won't have to make the decision between illegally fishing and not fishing at all.

There is one way to fish without a license so far as I know and that is to fish the Naples pier where the city pays for the license.
I prefer to fish the open beach and passes though.

I spent a summer fishing Clam Pass. Caught lots of small snook on EP flies and white clousers.
