Between the cold fronts we've had some great fishing this December. Were not catching any trophies but we've had great action.
Jigs have been the bait of choice this past week. Jigs work great for many reason. 1, everything eats them, 2, they cover alot of territory, 3, they are easy to use and 4, are an efficient bait. On a couple of recent trips we've hit the magic number of 10 species and on other trips have come close to it. Counting species is fun for all including the kids. In addition it gives my anglers a goal which tends to help us fish harder and with a more positive attitude.
To hit the ten species we have to count some less desirable species but they are all fish. Our last 10er included snook, redfish, flounder, trout, mackeral, pompano, snapper, sheepshead, pinfish and a bat fish. We actually caught 11 species including the catfish.
I still have openings Christmas week so give me call if you'd like to book a trip.
