Andy,
I took my kayak out in the Clam Pass area today, and noticed that the water was really stained, but the tides were normal, and there was a lot of bait around. Found 5 small snook and a 5 pound jack that were eager to eat my fly in the couple of hours that I was out there.
The fishing was slow after the weekly hurricanes but things are looking up. The main passes have cleared up some especially on the incoming tides. Weather permitting, the outside points have been giving up snook and reds. Back bays have lots of fresh water and countless small snook in them. Also, the baby tarpon are rolling each morning in the creeks in the backcountry. Good luck.
