We've had a pretty good run of tarpon this June so far. I'm finding them in 4-6" of water off of some of the local beaches. I've also had some success fishing the passes at first light which is always a good time of day to fish in the summer.
Snook are also cruising along the beaches and make great sight fishing targets. They are not as deep as the tarpon, actually they will sometimes cruise in inches along the surf searching for food. Theya ere also prevelant in the passes and the surrounding mangrove shorelines.
A little off the beaches mackeral are active along with some pompano.
Sharks have been pretty easy. May favorite spots are in the backcountry in 4-6' of water where the bulls have been hanging. Bigger sharks are cruising some of the near shore wrecks including tigers and hammerheads.
Give me a call if you like to talk fishing or book a trip.
