I completey share your view on the Jacks. I love to catch those.
They are strong, always willing to eat and fight well.
I always get the smaller ones but sometimes the big ones hit the fly
and then I am in trouble. On two occasions I managed to break my trident while battling mr.Jack due to my "cruedness". Those breakages happened during two of my annual vacation trips to Naples at the same location with the same fish species, the Jacks.
On my trip last fall I managed to catch a few larger Jacks without breaking my gear. Below a 22 incher from Naples Beach.

Mr. Jack got competition though. Last fall I encountered a few fish that fight like Mr. Jack and jump. A fish foreign to me but surely not to somebody from Maine.
