The past couple of days I blanked. Michael however did considerably better. A day ago Michael hauled in two Snook from pond X. I got a hit from the Tarpon and was shortly into a Snook but blanked.
Let's face it, I am cursed. At least we had a good time on a nature trip yesterday with Estero boat tours.

This morning we headed to Clam pass for the second time. The Gulf waters had finally cleared so this time it would be more likely to catch fish down there. On the way to Clam pass we came along a Jack attack in Venetian bay. I made a few casts and had some following fish but failed to make a solid hookup.

We fished Clam pass at outgoing tide and concentrated on fishing both sides of the outflow. I got a Ladyfish and a few skipjacks. Michael hooked in to a nice Jack Crevalle.

A nice 5ft. Blacktip Shark was cruising in front of the outflow. The Shark attacked several schools of mullet close to the beach. When one member of the bathing public asked what was after the bait they would not believe me when I told it was a Shark. Whatever, just wait till one bites your backside :). I made a crude attempt to get the Shark by throwing a large gurgler at it. I spooked the Shark, it shot away like a rocket.
My luck continued when I thought I hooked a large fish. It was a Spanish Mackerel, hooked in the back :(.

Michael had hooked about eight Ladyfish and a Jack by now.
When the tide turned in we fished the channel for a while.
Michael saw a Snook closeby and casted to it. Instant hookup by
the Snookmeister. It is absolutely unbelievable how this guy always catches fish. All I do is take pictures of him.

This evening it will be time again to visit pond X. With the increasing temperatures the fish might be more willing to feed. Tomorrow it is off to Carl Johnson / Lovers Key state park again. With the cleaner water there should be a chance to catch some Snook. To be continued.....
