Sea Trout often school up and when you find them, often you can catch them by the dozen. That's what happened when I waded my favorite haunt January 10, '05.
I had been probing the deep holes for an hour before "finding" them.
The tide was just past high and moving water gave my Clouser Minnow a slow swing. Gentle strips were rewarded by a strong fight, often with leaps.
These trout are truly beautiful, but watch out for their two front teeth!
The technique I used to catch over a dozen of these beauties was pretty simple, kind of like slow-strip nymphing for trout in Maine ponds.
Stop by the Everglades Angler and I'll be happy to share the pattern, location, and casting techniques with you!
