Hello! My fishing pal and I are traveling from Utah and are hoping for tight lines. I have been going to Naples for twenty years but I just got into flyfishing and I'm always there in the winter only. I have access to a 28' Stamas and a 6' inflatable w/4hp. We are up for anything....wading, trolling, bottom fish, walking the beach or renting canoes/kyaks and using the boats I have access to. How should we spend are time? We are not picky about species - except sailcats! A shot at a Tarpon would be dreamy. Also, is the night fishing around dock lights productive in the summer. One last questions... are there shrimp boats within a 30 mile range out of Gordon's pass? Artificial lures with spin, baitcast and fly rods are the tools at hand. Please advise and I'll buy ya a cold one.
If ya got a bit of time to kill at dusk or 1st thing in the morning, walk the beach with your fly rod. Little white flies with some flash seem to work well. Youll be sight casting to snook if nothing else. Others in here can probably give you some more insight than I can. I know these flies have worked for me.
I live in Naples in the winter also I would love to take you fishing feel free to email me when you are in town joe@simple101.com Also try and come down in May or June the fishing is geat then See you sometime Joe
