Jeremy and I had a good time fishing with Kevin We did not land any fish but we did get a few shots.. Angler error. I can't wait to fish with him later this month. Question: when is the best month to hook a tarpon? What is the ratio of fish hooked vs landed?

Hi Joe, April and May are typically the best months to pursue tarpon on the fly. The are in the bays, I believe resting and feeding waiting for the spring migration. By late May they are more in the passes and off the beaches. More difficult on fly but easier on bait. I would say that more than 50% of the time they throw the hook. Tough mouths.
