Besides a few broken rods my holiday in Florida last fall yielded a late bonus. After submitting a picture of a mayan cichlid caught in pond X with one of Enrico's flies my submission was chosen picture of the month.
Today I received a piece of mail from the States with my prize, a whole selection of EP flies. Big thanks to Enrico and Mark.

I will try to go back to Florida this fall but it is not 100% sure I will be able to do that. First I have to coax my boss into giving me time off outside of the regular holiday season. Next week wednesday I have a meeting with him and will bring up the subject.

Where can I find the pictue of your Mayan Chic?

Do you know how much a real big one would weigh? Last year I caught one for sure between 4 and 5 lbs on fly.

Thanks,

Andy

Here's the link to the picture

I am not sure how big they get, this is what I found for the Florida record:

Mayan cichlid All-tackle 2 lbs. 8 oz. (1.13 kg) Holiday Park, FL 2/20/99 Jay Wright
