Hot weather no wind brings out the fish! Wednesday on the Cuba wreck we spotted several barracudas, permit, big jacks and some hungry sharks. I did hook 1 barracuda on an EP purple bunny strip fly using a 2 handed strip for speed only to lose him at the boat. I started a chum line and the sharks were looming. I put a steel leader and a big striper fly on ,hooked a live grunt a short pitch and bang… off we got. A 6 to 7 foot shark was on my line for a 45 minute fight and he was at the boat! As I bent over to cut the leader the shark took off under the boat putting so much stress on my Orvis 9wt that it snapped into pieces!!! what a day See ya out there Joe-m
