Report Friday June 10, 2005
Southwest Florida's had approximately 6”-11” inches of rain since June 1st depending on what part of the area. The rainy season is definitely here. This has not put-off the fish between the rainy days.
Capt. Wayne Whidden had a great day on Tuesday. Fishing about 1 ½ miles off Cape Romano using live bait they caught sharks, king mackerel, snapper, grouper, blue fish and other species. He said in the morning it was like a lake out there. Wayne said farther out the water was very clear, maybe too clear and the bite wasn’t as good.
Capts. Kevin Merritt & Danny Fabian had a good morning Thursday. They fished Karl Zeller and his group from Pennsylvania. The caught numerous snook and redfish on fly and Danny’s boat caught snook, reds, grouper, trout and other species. Kevin said the bite quit right after the rain front went through.
Capt. Aron Blaisdell had a good day with long time Everglades Angler customer Tom Murphy. Tom caught his first tarpon on fly. Capt. Aron also fished Walter Tiburski recently. Aling with the redfish picturd they caught snook, trout and other saltwater species. Aron also fished off Estero Bay for tarpon early this week, they hooked 4 fish on artificials and two on fly….but none landed.

I took my son Dylan out the other day and we had fun with snook and sharks. A Dusky Shark and a beach snook. Good fishin’ Dylan.
