While tarpon fishing with Oscar Martinez and friend John, both from different ends of the country. They converged in Naples to do a little warm up. Fly fishing for Snook and Tarpon before heading towards Andros to catch some bones provided the warm up they were looking for.
While Oscar was presenting a fly to a laid up tarpon we spotted a seatrout came out of nowhere and enhaled the fly and then the tarpon that was hot for the fly engulfed the seatrout that took the fly in a surge of whitewater. The tarpon made three jumps and spit the trout on the last jump sending it flying six feet to one side. The tarpon got away but landed and released a lucky Seatrout.
This event took place in about 10 seconds and 20 feet from the boat and was worth every penny.
