Fished the Redtide Classic with Ben Geroy this weekend and finished, well, 2nd to last place

Even with the bad finish we had alot of fun
We threw flies most of the day along with a couple Gulp Baits and Exudes mixed in. With the low tide in the morning I started off poling down a flat where we only found one tailer. Ben made a good cast but nothing. We knew the redfish were there cause with evert one that we would spook, 10 others would dart off with it

I'm going there next week and wading. Anyway, we moved on to a little hole I know where we had non-stop action with trout and small jacks for a while.
We were using a brown and white EP Minnow or the Dupree spoon fly. It's my turn so I throw the spoon fly into the hole and I hook something stronger than the others. It stays close for most of the fight and when I get it close enough, I see it shining in the water, it's a pompano. I tell Ben to get the net and after a few failed tries, it's finally in the boat
With the higher tide, I run north still trying to find a redfish but we are unsuccesful. We have so more fun including a puffer-fish, lizard-fish, and cat-fish all on a marobou clouser minnow which I think completed the trash can slam for the day. Oh well, it was a great day out on the water
