This morning I was on my way to Everglades Angler to check my e-mail.
I came along the docks at Crayton Cove and decided to make a stop to see if any fish where moving along the seawalls.
I was glad I stopped because I just got a glimpse of some yellow tails scooting through the water, big jacks!
I quickly tied on a nice size EP minnow and ripped it along the seawall.
One of the Jacks exploded on the fly and I was into a hefty battle with a Jack Crevalle.

I wanted to catch another but the school was already gone.
So I checked out some other places and was especially intrigued by a pumpingstation that put out freshwater into Naples bay.
It was to far away to reach by fly due to limited space for the backcast but I managed to get the fly close to the good spot.
After five casts I was into a jumping ladyfish, my first one this season and a quiite decent sized one.

The area I was fished boasted several buildings that stood on pilings in the water.
Off course those pilings had to house some fish so before I left I probed one of the buildings.
My last cast was dead on the pilings.
After just a few strips a nice Snook jumped on the fly.
Snook.
So in a matter of an hour I had caught three different fish species and all of decent size. Imagine I have passed that dock for weeks and never given it a thought of fishing there, not anymore...
Naples Bay.
The big plan for today still is to fish Gordon Pass but I am afraid it is going to rain here pretty soon. Maybe I will go afterall and try to get some more Snook on the fly.
Yesterday we fished the mangroves in Naples bay but got rained out so our fishing plans fell literaly in the water.
We did save the day though by fishing dock lights, a report will follow once Diamond Dave sends me the pictures.
