The plan was to get up early and catch the low tide rising but when I looked out to the harbor, our plan changed..... it looked pretty nasty out there. Soo, I decided to go back to sleep and catch the low tide in the evening. Man I'm glad I did. We headed out at around 6:00 and when we arrived to our fishing spot, we were greeted with an airboat and a dolphin that was tearing up anything it could get it's mouth on

Anyway, we move down the flat while I was poling my Dad around and he catches a 19" trout on a 3 in. Gulp Shrimp. So as he's rerigging, I jump off the platform and make a 10 ft. cast off the starboard side to a tailing redfish, the tail goes down, I set the hook, and the reel starts to scream. After about a 5 minute battle, I finally get this 10 lb. 29 1/2 inch red to the boat

Finally, my first tailing redfish. He was caught on the white mullet type Gulp bait.
The fish were still tailing but the dolphin kept running around and spooking them off so we decided to head in. I thought, not bad for an hour and a half out on the water.
