Yesterday I once again fished Crayton cove since the beach was becoming the playground of the media circus and fishing was impossible anyway.

When I came to the cove it was still low tide.
I fished a floating line and dropped a fly near the outflow of the pumping station

Low tide at the cove.

I had one hit from what I guessed was a Snook.
The water was really to low to fish the docks so I decided to take a break at the nearby restaurant.
A big sattelite truck and the vans with the telltale jerrycans on top
where present next to the restaurant.
You could not go anywhere without bumping into the news people.
So I sat down on the terrace at the dock zipping a cool bass beer while looking out on to the bay.
The wind was picking up but it stay dry for the whole day.
After my break it was back to the dock.
I had to work hard for my first fish but eventually a Jack Crevalle decided to hit the EP minnow.

I missed several fish but the at the pilings the Snook where cooperative as usual.

At the end of the high tide the wind died down and just like yesterday the humidity killed me.
I stayed on for a while and managed to haul in one Ladyfish at the outflow of the pumpingstation.

In the evening I finished packing my "on the run" bag since hurricane Wilma would be making landfall around Naples Sunday or Monday.
The mandatory evacuation of the area I was in was postponed untill sunday 8 o' clock in the morning.
This morning I was picked up by my fishingbuddy Diamond Dave and we went onto the pier to see the media circus.

Actually Diamond Dave wanted to see Stephanie Adams from the weather channel. Well it was worthwhile, mission succseeded.
I am right now staying at the "safe side" of US41 in Naples, later in the afternoon we will most likely be on the road.
