On this day I went fishing with Diamond Dave and Marshall DeMott.
I was back at my hotel with all comforts like power and the possibility to take a hot shower.
The other guys where not so lucky and bored to the limit, so we went fishing.
We tried to access one of the parks but it was closed down due to storm damage.
Next stop was a lake behind a shopping mall but fish where not cooperating.
When Diamond Dave spotted a water mocassin at the shore it was exit time.
We finally ended up at the lake near Marshalls place.
A small bass lake.
Marshall was throwing his gurglers and landed some nice bass.
I landend a little one when fishing a small micro minnow along the shoreline.
Small bass
I changed to a twisterfly to fish a fly deep and after a while hooked into a solid bass that jumped all over the place.
My second "bigger" bass.
The lake was small so we soon outfished it.
Dave called it a day while Marshall and I went to downtown Naples to fish some docks.
The docks had produced loads of fish for me just after the hurricane passed but on this day all fish left.
We tried our best but all I could come up with was a small mangrove snapper following the fly.
So Marshall called it a day late in the afternoon.
I ended the day with a trip to the Naples pier to take a look
at the sunset.
Naples pier.
The Gulf was as expected all stirred up, the water had a gray color.
No good for fishing that was for sure.
