Yesterday I went out with Marshall Demott to fish some backwater creeks in Naples. We waded at outgoing tide through the mangroves. Marshall was pretty soon into a nice Snook when he fished the edge of one of the channels.

Marshall with a nice Snook. We followed one channel quite far into the mangroves fishing all the shorelines. On our way back to another creek Marshall once again hooked in to a fish that gave him quite a tough battle. The way the fish was moving was a sure sign of a Jack Crevalle.

Marshall's Jack Crevalle. My first contact with a fish was when a Snook chased my EP pinfish while I retrieved it across the channel. Ten minutes later I finally hooked into a Snook.

Snook The tide was running out fast so we looked for Snook action at some of the creek junctions. There where quite a few big mullet milling around in the shallows but unfortunely I did not got any hits on the fly anymore.

Low tide. When we moved to the beach hordes of fiddler crabs moved through the mangroves. Even some ghost crabs where moving about.

Fiddler crabs. On the beach we encountered one Snook in the surf. I walked parallel to the Snook pointing out its location while Mashall put the fly in front of the fish. The fish ignored the fly and continued to stare down the mini baitfish in the wash. In the afternoon I tried to fish the Cove but there where no fish present. Further in the bay the gulls where going crazy, you got to have a boat down here. I skipped the cove and went to the beach to watch the sunset.
