Hi everybody - I'm new here.

I'll be visiting my folks on Ilses of Capri in early April. I'll have a 16ft Whaler at my disposal and plan on fishing the IC and Rookery Bay. Any suggestions on how to fish these area? I'll be mostly fly fishing.

Would I be better off heading to Caxambas instead? I don't really know that are too well.

Here's a link to some online charts I came across too:

Thanks

Hi,

There are some good places to fish right near you. No need to travel all the way to Cax unless you want to check it out. There could be tarpon rolling around in Johnson Bay and the snook should be around the mangrove shorelines plus if you want to fish at night the lights can be good for snook and jacks. The beaches may start to have snook around capri pass and hurricane pass if the wind has stopped blowin'. March and early April can be windy. Daybreak or sunrise may help with the tarpon. All kinds of water in Rookery. Sounds like you dont have an electric motor so drift shorelines or anchor up on points and islands. There are some small islands in the middle of rookery bay ive caught snook at before. Fish the side with the current pushing against it. The current may not be strong but...Streamers or poppers. The water will be warm so poppers are a blast plus are good attractors for snook in the roots.
Stop in the shop if you get a chance when your in town.
Thanks
