Mark and others,
I was in Marco at Christmas and did well on foot. I am now hooked! I am planning on coming back in July for 10 days. What is the flyfishing like in the canals and beaches in the middle of July? Is it solid or inconsistent and what is around?
Please email me or post a response as I desperately need another saltwater fix - I am hooked!!!!!!!

Fishing will only be better. The hot water will make the fish a lot more active. Should be lots of fish cruising the beaches. Just have to watch out fo the rain storms.

Thanks for the info! Will the canals and lagoons be good too or only the beaches. Do the lagoons and canals get too warm??

The canals and lagoons can be good as well as the beaches. The passes can be excellent as many fish congregate there to feed on the bait that can be so prevelant, plus the snook spawn in the passes near the full and new moon phases in the summer. First light in the morn can be great.

Mark Ward
Everglades Angler

Thanks Mark - you will see me at the store in July then, buying my saltwater supplies. Do you have any local customers that I could hook up with for some fishing. I'll pay their gas for car or boat? I just can't afford a guide for $500.
