The water in the Gulf of Mexico has reached 70 which is a far cry from 60 less than two weeks ago. A few tarpon in the 40-70lb range have shown in the bays in the 10,000 Islands and the Everglades National Park. The tarpon that were spotted appeared to be resident tarpon having darker backs. The spring time migratory tarpon should arrive any day although things really settle in in April. This is something we wait for every year, the spring time layed-up tarpon. It's one of, if not the only and best place in the world to fly fish for a 100 LB fish laying motionless in less than 3' of water. Stay tuned for more reports or feel free to submit a report. Check out videos on the home page for a clip of a layed-up.
