Im looking forward to purchasing a rod and reel combo preferably for fishing off of a pier. What kind of pole should i get, what brand, and what lb. test line should i get. I will be fishing off the naples pier. Also i need to know what lures are good for snook and redfish. Thank you so much i appreciate your help.

Hi, A 6-7' rod with 10-16lb test will be good. Shimano makes excellent spinning reels with a wide selection of price points. St. Crois makes a good rod and there are many others. Stop by Sunshine Ace Hardware, they have a great selection and are very helpful. We only sell fly tackle. Live bait is the best such as shrimp or pilchards which you have to get cast net. Jigs are effctive baits and plugs can be also. Again, Sunshine can help. Stop in if you get a chance and we'll try to steer youi in the right direction. I'll be back in the shop next Thursday.
Thanks and good luck!
