The most severe cold front of the second half of the year is passing through Southwest Florida.
Captain Ken Chambers reports that the water is cold but clear. Redfish are roaming the shallows along with small snook, and trout are on the garss beds. But the fish are lethargic. Jigs tipped with shrimp have been somewhat effective.
Warmer more seasonal weather is due to return this weekend, and the fishing should improve substantially.
