The fishing has been good the last few days especially in the am with the strong incoming tides we've had around the new moon we have today. The tides will be good for the next week as there will be low tide mid to late morning. This allows you to fish the end of the outgoing and the beginning of the incoming. The lower tides pull the snook and reds out of the mangroves allowing better access and increased opportunity for sight fishing.
Capt. Ken Chambers reports: "Fished with Geoff Burling on Monday pm and caught 3 reds, snook, ladyfish, and countless jacks on the fly. Mostly on olive/white clousers and EP Spawning shrimp in brown/orange. Found the motherload of snook and redfish hanging under prespawn mullet on the outside but water was gin clear. Down the shoreline, the mullet would spook and within seconds I would see a couple hogs swim by.
Mark Ward, owner Everglades Angler
Arthur & Jacqui Mabbet fishing with Capt. Kevin Merritt caught this beautiful 33" snook on a EP Everglades Special fly.
Capt. Tim D guided Terry Adkins to a nice red caught in unknown bay on a falling tide. Fish were eating jigs and topwater plugs . Also small snook being taken on black ep flys.
