I'll be in Ft. Myers (staying on the beach in a townhouse) the week of July 4th. I'll have my kayak with me. Any thoughts on what I can expect as far as flyfishing goes? I'll need to pick up some flies too so I figured EA is the place to go.

Hi, July can be a great time of year to fish. There will be snook cruising the beach, they can be right along the edge cruising the trough looking for baitfish and sandfleas. Also in Pine Island Sound snook, redfish and tarpon will be around. Early in the mornings and late in the afternoon till sunset will be best. Looking at the tides the afternoon high tide will be good for the beach snook and the falling tide around sunset should produce a bite.
Good luck!
