The fishing has been very good this past week. Snook are cruising the beaches eating Micro Minnow and Bay Anchovy flies.

Reds are in the backcountry and there are still a few tarpon in the bays and there off the beaches. Early, early am is best to get the silver kings to bite. For flies the EP tarpon specials have been working in blue/yellow and blue/orange.

I took my Dad deep into Johnson Bay near Isle of Capri Tues. and caught 7 reds between 19-26 inches on live shrimp fishing deeper holes.

The low tide mid morning and the falling afternoon tides should be good this week and weekend.

Capt. Mark Ward

Capt. Tim Daugherty reports: Afternoon fishing in Estero was on POINT... Fishing big live baits with an incomming tide all morning was the ticket for big snook and big reds...I chummed hard and let the baits do all the locating of the fish...When we saw fish exploding on baits we tossed big white baits to feeding fish. Action was good as long as the tide was moving...What a great morning.

This is Matthew King with a nice 28in red caught on a falling late afternoon tide. The fish that day were taken on Black and purple EP flies. Also many underslot snook caught that day.. With the water temps right around 80 degrees the fishing continues to get RED HOTT...
Capt. Tim Daugherty
