I will be in Naples Labor Day weekend vacationing with my girlfriend at the La Paya Resort. I won't have time for a charter, but can anyone give me any suggestions or thoughts on beach fly fishing. Or is a waste of time and I should just stick to cold corona's?

If so please advise on recommendations of Wt of rod, lines, flies, techniques, etc....

Thank you in advance.

Bring your 8wt and fish the beaches for Snook. Watch them cruising paralel to the beach in very shallow water. I would recommend a white and red Clouser and seeing how it's a holiday, I would try to find a more remote beach with less people. Get there early and be stealthy. I like to walk high up away from the beach so when I see the Snook cruising down the edge, I get up in front of them without them seeing me and strip it away from the fish not at them.
Good luck
Aron
