The dog days of August continue, and it has been hotter than normal. Consequently, the fishing action has slowed. The big schools of bait that are norrmally found along the beaches at this time of the year are nowhere to be found.

Daybreak continues to provide the best opportunities, but the bite frequently disappears after 10:00AM. Snapper and small snook are being caught south of Naples as well as a few reds and baby tarpon on occasion.
