Since I had an overdose of Florida sun on my delicate feet I decided to keep a low profile this morning.
After a good rest the first thing I did was getting breakfast at one of the restaurants on the route to the Everglades angler store.
After finishing a delightfull cup of cappuchino I headed south to the store.
No repect these egrets!
Since I came along Crayton Cove in Naples bay I decided to probe the
docks for some fishing action.
Soon I had a Snook following my fly and after some chases I finally hooked
a small specimen.
Small Snook.
I even had a shot at one of the big Snook but it grabbed my fly just as I took it out of the water, I missed the fish.
A while later I saw some large brown object floating on the bay, it came in to my direction.
At first I thought it was a small manatee but when it came closer I was astonished to see a huge Snook.
It was the biggest Snook I had ever seen, off course I tossed a fly to it but the only reaction was that the Snook slowly decended to the deep.
Before I left for the shop I got one other bite on the fly.
Jack Crevalle.
A small Jack Crevalle was the last fish of this short afternoon session.
Currently I am at the shop, later in the day I will check out the south end of Naples Beach at Doctors pass.
Tomorrow I am off to Lovers Key located Bonita Springs and Fort Myers Beach.
I espect that some fish will cross my path in the coming day, I am still eager for a fight with a big Jack Crevalle.
