I am in town for a week or so and have my beavertail skiff with me but really dont know the area, I have fished the last two days and caught some snook and reds but really would like to try to catch a tarpon or baby tarpon. not looking for someones honey hole just maybe a general area and what flies seem to work well, I stopped in the shop today but there was a lady there on the phone so I thought I would try again later

thanks
Jared

Hi Jared,
I've had better success at night with tarpon. Most dock lights around Goodland seem to hold tarpon. When they turn on, they won't refuse a well placed fly. You have to be stealthy on the boat. No loud noises, and I swear, these fish can just sense your boat as you creep into a quiet canal with docks with their snook lights on. Take a map, and maybe get your game plan in order during the day, so you know where you are running. It's a lot different out there at night...
Good luck, Stoli

If you are looking for baby tarpon, try in Naples Bay on the north side of the bridge on 41. Last week spent 2 nights fishing there and had good luck with tarpon on live bait and fly. Good luck and tight lines...
