The fishing the past week has been very good especially the late afternoons with the hard falling tides we've had. Snook are prevelant in the passes and some tarpon are being caught but the best bet for them is first light. There are also good numbers of snook along the beaches especially along the south end of Keewaydin and I've seen some bigger fish along the NW shoals along Tiger tail beach on Marco Island. For flies I've been using alot of clouser minnows in red and white. Of course pilchrds are working. I've found bait by the Naples marker but the smaller biat along the beach also works well especially for snapper. I've caught a few reds recently but not many. Some of the oyster bars up Henderson Creek have been good.
Summer is a great time of year to fish. There is little boat traffic especially on the weekdays and the fishing is very good. Because of the heat, for full days I'm fishing 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the evening.
