Fishing has been a roller coaster ride lately. The bait has moved offshore making it difficult to locate. If you find it you can bet you will catch some big snook right know. I have been doing best on the top of the tide on the outside islands. There are some Tarpon just offshore as well as some big Permit mixed in.
The sight fishing for laid up Tarpon has been up and down. Some days you find them and the next you don't. The fish have been laying up in the usual bays but most I have been seeing are laying near the bottom making it difficult to get a shot at them. With enough patience and stealth you will get some shots. It seems the best area has been south in the Everglades National Park where the water has been a little cleaner than the northern islands.
