Some of my favorite fly fishing is a 20-minute drive from my new winter digs in Naples and even though the trout fishing here in Maine is excellent, I'm thinking more and more about fishing these salt sea babies when I come down in November. I caught this one was while wading up at Clam Pass last March. He took one of my EP Minnow ties.
Meanwhile back here on the Kennebec a fellow guide landed this beauty Brown on a PT nymph.
They can be along the beaches, but for the most part they are going to associate with grass. Brightly colored flies work well, and if you combine the color with some lead (Clouser Minnow), you have a winner...

Marsel,
The fly I used was made of Polar Fibre, Olive and white, with EP Fibers and plastic eyes. But any small silvery Pilchard imitation works well stripped near the tidal grassy areas. Are we going to be neighbors in Naples?
